GEORGE EVERET PHELPS


LOUISBURG – George Everet Phelps, 89, died Friday evening, Aug. 23, 2013 at his home.  A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 26, at Maple Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Havens and the Rev. Charles Summerlin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. 

He was a son of the late Harold and Elnora Hudson Phelps. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; sister, Rachel Debnam; brothers, Charlie Phelps and Glen Phelps.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.  

Surviving: his wife, Doris S. Phelps; daughters Bonnie (Daylon) Inscoe; Karen and Bennie Fuller; sons George Phelps Jr. (Vicki)   Tommy and Diane Phelps; Steve Phelps and Teri Barham; sister, Alice Hight, all of Louisburg; nine grandchildren;  seven great-grandchildren.
