LOUISBURG - Funeral services for John Alston Jr., 68, who died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 26, at Mitchiner’s Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Melvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Shirley Alston of the home; daughters, Carolyn Stanton of San Antonio, Tex., Wendy Crudup, Jacqueline Alston and April Alston Harris, all of Louisburg, Donna Miles of Zebulon and Christina Angel Alston of the home; sons, John Alston III of Youngsville and Ricky Alston of Louisburg; sister, Ruth Perry of Louisburg; brother, Rufus Alston of Centerville; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Wake services will be held Friday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
