MARSHALL LEE “JACK” HORTON


DURHAM - Marshall Lee “Jack” Horton, 82, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 6,  at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. in the Howerton & Bryan Funeral Chapel,  with the Rev. Jim Turnbough  officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Born in Granville County, Jack was the son of the late Tommy and Lula Hayes Horton.  He was employed with Gold Kist Poultry for 42 years, and was a member of Immanuel Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving wife, Peggy Glover Horton;  son, Jerry Lee Horton of the home,  two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five sisters and one brother, all residents of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Champion, and three grandsons.

The family will receive friends at Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home in Durham on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
