LOUISBURG - Dottie Jane Green Wrenn, 81, of Louisburg, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 after several months of declining health. She was constantly surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born on July 1, 1932 in Vance County. She was the daughter of John Thomas Green, Sr. and Jessie Green. On June 4, 1949, she married Douglas Wrenn and they spent the next 51 years until his death doing many things together including dancing, traveling, camping, gardening and worshiping. They were both members of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Lions/Lioness Clubs. They both enjoyed helping those in need.

Dottie was active at Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, served as a Trustee, and held several positions with the United Methodist Women. She taught Line Dance and served as hostess for trips at the Franklin County Senior Center in Louisburg. She also was a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer.

She worked as the Social Coordinator at Louisburg Nursing Center for over 26 years. After retiring, she served as a Trustee and Volunteer Coordinator at Franklin Regional Medical Center until resigning in July 2013 due to her declining health.

Her family considered her to be a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always showed concern and love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandchild, Adam Dodd. She is survived by three sons, Clifton Michael Wrenn (Sherry) of Oxford, NC, George Thomas Wrenn (Trilvia) of Stem, NC, and Carey Douglas Wrenn (Melissa) of Madison Heights, VA; a brother, John T. Green, Jr.(Patricia);nine grandchildren, Terisa Wrenn, Ryan Wrenn (Susan), Stephanie Wright (Sam), Brad Wrenn (Sherrie), Clyde Wrenn, Jessica Alexander (Josh), Chris Moore (Meghann), Heather Roberts (Brandon), and Matthew Moore; eight great-grandchildren, Jessie Wrenn, Sydney Wrenn, Dylan Wrenn, Rylee Wrenn, Makala Ball, Travis Ball, Easton Roberts, Cooper Wright, Fletcher Wright, and Claire Alexander; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend and 12-year companion, Irving “Buddy” Inscoe.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the Staff of the Granville House in Oxford for their wonderful care, to the friends who came to play cards and visit with our Mom during her sickness, to Trilvia Wrenn who spent many hours with Dottie while also attending to Rylee and her own mother during the last six months.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 4272 US 401 N Louisburg, NC, with the Reverend Kellie Gallagher-Smith presiding. Internment will be at the church cemetery. A meal will be held immediately following the internment. The family will receive friends at the graveside and at the meal.
