LOUISBURG – James Bert “J.B.” Denton, 81, of Louisburg, died Monday evening at his home.

J.B. was a son of the late Bert and Flonnie Radford Denton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille H. Denton; grandson, Matthew “Matt” J. McCormick; three sisters and five brothers.

A private service will be held at a later date.

J.B. is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ava and Kenneth Addington of Rocky Mount; sisters, Mary Gupton and husband Bennie Ray Gupton of Louisburg; Dora Roble of Pittsburgh, PA; granddaughter, Caitlin Schoultz; great-granddaughters, Alana and Alyssa McCormick.
