LOUISBURG - Funeral services for James Larry Bumpers, 61, who died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, were held Monday, Dec. 23, at Mitchiner’s Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Melvin Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, LaShae Cannady of Franklinton and Antwanette Hockaday of Creedmoor;  son, Demetrius Cannady of Franklinton; sister, Diane Collins of Louisburg; brothers, Johnny Cooke of Oxford, Adell Cooke, Leon Bumpers, Samuel Cooke, Ronnie Cooke, all of Franklinton, Wayne Bumpers and William Bumpers, both of Youngsville; and two grandchildren.
