SHIRLEY PENDER HORTON


LOUISBURG - Shirley Pender Horton, 75, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at WakeMed. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 She was born in Wilson County, the daughter of the late Rudolph David Pender and Pauline Outlaw Pender. She was retired from Weavexx after 19 years of service. After her retirement, she was a homemaker.

Surviving: sons, Henry Allen of Louisburg and Donnie Williams of Wilson; sisters, Janice Rogers of Dudley and Paulette Lufzchek of Chesapeake, Va.; brothers, Rudolph Pender of Wilson and Joseph Scott (Burnice) of Bluff City, Tenn.; fiancé, Ronald Williams; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Horton; son, Jimmy Allen; daughter, Barbara Ready; and by her brother, Phillip Pender.

Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 Friday evening, Jan. 10,  at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest, and at Mrs. Horton’s home at other times.
