LOUISBURG - Jean Carpenter Champion, 61, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Wake Medical Center. A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 2, at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel in Louisburg with the Rev. Robby Piper Jr. officiating.

She was born to the late Preston Arnold and Elnora Sparks Carpenter.  She worked for the US Postal Service in Youngsville for the past 20 years.

Surviving: husband, Mickey Roy Champion; daughters, Sherri Coley of Spring Hope, Renee Finn of Louisburg and Heather Champion of Saudia Arabia; sons, Arnold Finn and Jon Cameron Finn, both of Louisburg; sisters, Arnola Gilliam of Louisburg and Mindy Vick of Nashville; brothers, John Preston Carpenter of Greensboro and Harvey Carpenter of Louisburg; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
