LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Joe “Vnni” Williams, 79, who died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, were held Saturday, March 8, at Haywood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Douglas Harris officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Shirley Williams of the home; daughters, Andrea  Griswold of Boston, Mass., Denise Thompson of Newark, N.J., Jackie Johnson of Willingboro, N.J.; sons, Darrell Nicholson of Greensboro, Stanley White of Newark, N.J.; sisters, Bertha Mae Epps of Louisburg and Cora Best of Midlothian, Va.; brothers, Jimmy Williams of Midlothian, Va., Hurley Williams Jr. of Louisburg and Douglas Brown of Wake Forest; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
