LOUISBURG - Willie Rogers Clanton, 82, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at South Main Street Baptist Church in Louisburg. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove church cemetery, Louisburg.

Surviving: daughter, Sonia Strickland; son, David Bernard Clanton of Louisburg; sisters, Sallie Bart of Manhattan, N.Y., Hattie Clanton of Englewood N. J., Dorothy Parker of Middleton, Del., Patricia Hughes of Garner, Alice Clanton of Raleigh, Mary Green of Fredricksburg, Va., and Clara Beasley of Paterson, N.J.; brother, Gordon Clanton of Linden, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
