CASTALIA - Funeral services for Irene McCowan Alston, 91, who died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, will be held Saturday, July 5, at 1 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: husband, Ellis Alston of the home; daughters, Eula Leonard of Spring Hope, Daphine Thomas (Bobby) and Maxine Perry (Simon), all of Louisburg; sons, Ray B. Alston of Castalia and Emmanuel Alston (Roshunda) of Greenwood, Miss.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 4.
