LOUISBURG – Stella Preston Smith, 92, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 19, 2014. A prayer service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in Fillmore, N. Y.

She was a daughter of the late Emra and Olive Acquard Preston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” A. Smith; daughters, Susan C. Bliss and Barbara Jean Smith; sisters, Doris Zorn, Helen Gallmann, and Dorothy Papke; brothers, Robert Preston and Frank Preston.

Surviving: daughter, Ellen S. (Leroy) Buchanan of Youngsville; son, Richard R. Smith of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; sister, Martha (Edwin) Bower of Fillmore, N. Y.; brother, Donald (Jean) Preston of Palm Harbor, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
