FRANKLINTON --Juanita Kathleen "MaMa" Smith, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 24, at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church, Wake Forest, with Dr. Enoch E. Holloway officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

She was one of seven children born to the late John and Sally Smith. She received her early education at Washington School in Raleigh and later attended business school. She worked many years at Debnam Clinic as a secretary. Upon retirement, she worked at RDU International Airport as a security agent. She was involved in various community and church activities.

Surviving: son, George; sisters, Sarah and Alberta; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
