LOUISBURG - George Bailey "G.B." Horton, 71, of Louisburg, died Monday morning at his home.

G.B. was preceded in death by his father, George H. Horton.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

G.B. is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Horton; daughter, Ann Horton (Lee Bailey) of Wendell; son, George "Tony" Horton of Louisburg; mother, Eunice P. Horton of Smithfield; sisters, Evelyn Smith of Burlington; Louise Barbour (Jerry) of Princeton; brothers, Dr. James Horton (Gloria) of Edenton; Charles Horton (Teresa) of Louisburg; grandchildren, Robbie Horton, Michael Horton, Seth Robertson, Justin Horton and Jake Horton; great-granddaughter, Ember Moody.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church, Youth Fund, 888 M.C. Wilder Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
