LOUISBURG - Clyde Boyd Gupton, 78, of Louisburg, died Friday morning at Franklin Oaks.

Clyde was a son of the late Earlie Buck and Ada Ruth Boyd Gupton. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry G. Goldman, and grandson, Joey Goldman.

A funeral service was held 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Wes Bailey and Rev. Shane Brantley officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family received friends 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Vicki Gupton; son, Tim Gupton and wife, Marshell of Knoxville, TN; stepson, Rob Preddy and wife Lisa; brother, Donald L. Gupton; niece, Christy Fuller; sisters, Shelby Wrenn, all of Louisburg; Peggy G. Upchurch and husband, Don Long of Lake Wylie, SC; grandchildren, Stephen, John, Joshua, Titus, Michael, Gabriel, Elijah, and Bethany Gupton; Cortney G. Ragan; Michelle Preddy; Joshua Rowe; great-grandchildren, Hailey Cowan; Chloe Greer, and Emilee "JoJo" Greer; Natalie Ragan; Peter, Jonathan, and Elisha Gupton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Van Ministry, 402 NC 561 Hwy., Louisburg, NC 27549.
