WAKE FOREST - Hurley Brantley Sr., 83, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Hillside Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Brantley family cemetery, Middlesex.

He was born in Nash County to the late Lawrence and Belzie Brantley.

Surviving: his wife, Margaret W. Brantley; sons, Herley Brantley Jr. (Janet), James Lawrence Brantley (Alice) and Jesse Frank Brantley (Cheryl); brother, Worley Brantley; sisters, Shirley Wood and Shelby Lucas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Annie Lee Thorne Brantley; brothers, Sonnie, Herbert, Earlie, Ervin Brantley and Berlie Brantley.

Memorial contributions can be made to Glen Royal Baptist Church, 731 Elizabeth Avenue, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest, and all other times at the home of Herley Brantley Jr., 3917 Burlington Mills Road, Wake Forest.
