FRANKLINTON - Jeffery Lindale Kearney, 58, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at Universal Healthcare of Raleigh. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, at First Baptist Church in Franklinton, with the Rev. André Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

He was born to Tempie Kearney and the late Junious Kearney in Louisburg. He received an Honorary Award from former NC Governor Jim Hunt for the brave and heroic rescue of a neighbor who was trapped in a burning home.

He was a graduate of Franklinton High School and attended DeVry Technical Institute, where he received his FCC license.

Surviving: his wife, Linda L. Kearney of the home; son, Jeffery J. Kearney (Kenya) of Franklinton; daughter, Tikara S. Cannon (Clinton) of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Tempie A. Kearney of Franklinton; sisters, Gloria J. Kearney of Franklinton and Tammie K. Hilliard (Alex) of Louisburg; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
