LOUISBURG - Ralph Grant Loftin, 71, of Louisburg, passed away Saturday morning after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Edna Loftin.

A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Grant is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Diane Duke Loftin; daughters and sons-in-law, Candy and Billy Dement of Louisburg; Penny and Rick Funai of Wilmington; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Kimberly Loftin of Knightdale; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Steve Lamm of Louisburg; Jenia and Ed Cannon of Raleigh; brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Linda Loftin of Louisburg; grandchildren, Reynolds Dement; Loftin Wrenn and husband, Jared; London Dement; William Dement; Sailor Funai; Zachary Loftin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Building and Grounds Fund, 111 Laurel Mill Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
