FRANKLINTON-Kay Moore Strickland, 80, died at her home Tuesday, July 14, 2015. A memorial service will be held Aug. 1 at 3 p.m. at Franklinton Baptist Church.

She was born to the late Rev. Albert Lee and Clara Rice Moore. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Elaine Nelms; sons, Eric Kent Nelms and Harlan Stuart Nelms; sister, Joyce Moore Evans; and a brother, Donald Moore.

Surviving: husband, Alvin Allen Strickland; daughter, Evelyn Nelms Goswick of Franklinton; son, Gary Edward Nelms (DeLon) of Raleigh; sisters, Emma Hutzler, Faye Booth, Annette Buchan; brothers, George Moore and Ronald Moore; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Benevolence Fund of Franklinton Baptist Church, 102 West Mason Street, Franklinton, N. C. 27525.
