LOUISBURG - Reverend Benjamin Barnes Sr., 76, pastor of Tree of Life Ministries of Louisburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 12 p.m. at Rocky Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Louisburg. Burial will follow in the Barnes family cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church prior to services.

Surviving: wife, Bettie Barnes; daughters, Bonita Barnes of Louisburg, Bridget Barnes of Zebulon, Belinda Alexander (Fred Jr.) of Charlotte, Brittany Thoms (Darnell) of Wilson; sons, Benjamin Jairod Barnes (Renee), Benjamin A. Barnes Jr. (Chevie) and Benaiah J. Barnes, all of Louisburg; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Leatrice Barnes Taylor of Fayetteville, Doris B. Neal of Oxon Hill, Md., William O. Barnes of Washington, D.C., Rev. Hural Barnes, Sr. (Rosa) of Middlesex and Delores B. Barber of Ft. Washington, Md.; a host of other relatives and friends.
