GERALDINE FISHERKELLER

GERALDINE FISHERKELLER

Geraldine Fisherkeller, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, left this life September 30, 2015 to start anew. Geri passed away peacefully at Bay Village Retirement Community of Sarasota. After tenacious fights with falls. fractures, dementia and stroke, she is again fully restored with the Lord, her dimpled smile radiant, her thoughts clear and full, and sweet southern voice full of charm and kindness expressing love to her family and friends.

Born in Franklinton, NC February 5, 1926. Geraldine was the second daughter to Sally and Roy Holder. Kay was big sister and later Bill, James, Catherine and Herman followed. Throughout her life, she and her family were close and always in her thoughts. Geri outlived her brothers and sisters by many years.

In her early years, she traveled extensively and saw much of the world. She found the love of her life, Carl Robert Fisherkeller, in Atlanta during WWII. Bob was a dashing Naval pilot and she a beautiful southern belle. They celebrated their 70th anniversary this past April 11th.

Geraldine is survived by her children: Robert Wilson, their oldest, ministerial servant to Kingdom Hall Congregation, lives with wife Celeste in Springfield, Missouri; Daughter Jo Ann Pompeii, Nurse Practitioner, resides in Safety Harbor, Florida. She has been her mother's loving companion, friend, and devoted daughter; Son Mark, a beloved Cardiologist, lives with his wife Karen in Willington, Connecticut.

Geri's legacy also included grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all imbued with a bit of her feisty, generous, and loving spirit. Her grandchildren, Robert, Christy, Joey, Jesse, Mikie, Rachel, Katie, Jozi, Will, Ryan and Connor, brightened her life. Jozi says her beloved grandmother was "the Marilyn Monroe of grandmothers". Her oldest grandson Jesse calls his grandmother, "the champagne of our lives, sparkling with life, love and excitement. She also shared in the joyous lives of her great-grandchildren, Megan, Cody, Killian, Brenden, George, Molly, Annie, Sophia and Samuel. Serena and especially Jolene, who lives nearby, brightened her last months.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at Bay Village Retirement Community.
