NEWPORT - Danny Lynn Massengill, 62, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at Wake Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Dunn. An additional memorial service will be held at the beach at a later date.

He was born to Mary Massengill Mozingo of Dunn. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archi and Estella Massengill.

In addition to his mother, Danny is survived by his daughter, Dawn Massengill; son, Ari Massengill; brothers, Stacey Keeter, Curtis Keeter and Jimmy Mozingo Jr.; sisters, Pamela Jackson, Debbie Parker and Joan Tanner; and three grandchildren.
