RICHARD T. JUSTICE

FRANKLINTON -- Richard Thomas Justice, 81, of Franklinton, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at his home. Born on September 13, 1934 to the late Jasper Lee and Dessie Veigh Beck Justice. A retired major from the Raleigh Police Department, and a deacon of Perry's Chapel Baptist Church.

Tom loved racing, he was a champion dirt track racer at Schloss Raceway and while in his sixties he was named rookie of the year at Southern National Speedway.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Barker Justice and his brothers, James L. Justice and Doug Justice and his sister, Sandra Justice.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Perry's Chapel Baptist Church where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Lee Justice; his son, Richard "Tom" Justice, Jr. and his beloved grandson, Ryan Thomas Justice; his special friend, Brenda Hunt. He is also survived by his Irish Setter, Cecil Edward, V.
