MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER GREENAugust 15, 1993 - February 7, 2016

FRANKLINTON - Michael Christopher Green, 22, of Franklinton, was called home to be with his heavenly father on February 7, 2016. Michael was a man with an easy smile and a kind heart to match, whose loving nature never failed to uplift those around him. Every person he met could feel his gentle spirit and his love for others. It never took long for someone to call him a friend. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he met, Michael touched many lives during his time on this earth.

Michael's love for people was only matched by his love for the great outdoors. In the early hours of the morning, he would set out into the wilderness before the sun rose, crossing forest and field in pursuit of deer and duck. From riding four-wheelers down winding dirt paths to crouching in the swamp behind a duck blind, Michael was in his element when he was outside.

A 2011 graduate of Franklinton High School, Michael was well thought of by his classmates and teachers, who always knew him to be a respectful and polite young man, who was raised well by his parents. Michael enjoyed playing golf and soccer and was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church.

Michael leaves behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memory his loving parents Sam and Jennifer Green, of the home; his beloved brother Logan; his grandparents, Wally and Dorothy Wooles of Greenville; his grandfather, Brodie Green of Franklinton; his aunts and uncles, Gary and Leslie Murray of Lake Gaston, Michael and Marian Wooles of Anderson, S.C., Mark and Teresa Wooles of Greenville, Janet Absher of Richmond, VA and Charles and Cindy Phelps of Louisburg, as well as his cousins Morgan Wooles, Megan Wooles, Jamie Wooles, John Absher, Jill Brishke, Joy Maletta and Matt Debnam, along with an extended family on his father's side who loved him dearly. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Green of Franklinton, whom he will surely see on God's golden shores.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg for visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 11. A funeral service will be held at Franklinton Baptist Church starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 12.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics of NC, 2200 Gateway Centre Blvd., Ste. 201, Morrisville, NC 27560.

Although Michael has gone home to God, we take comfort in knowing that one day, we will meet again.
