FRANKLINTON -Elvis Clarke Mitchell Jr., 71, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 12, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Franklinton, with the Rev. Carl Hunter officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olivet Church cemetery.

He was born to the late Elvis Clarke Mitchell Sr. and Mary Frances Perry Mitchell. He was a 1964 graduate of Franklinton High School and worked for many years at Wake Finishing Plant of Burlington Industries.

Surviving: wife, Ruby Mitchell; sisters, Mayrose Dickens of Kittrell, Faye Thompson of Henderson and Betsy Jones of Centerville; and many nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Benevolent Fund of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Franklinton, NC 27525.
