CASTALIA - Alice Hale Pernell, 68, died Thursday, May 5, 2016. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 9, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Henry officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

She was born in Nash County to the late Ben and Doris Mosley Hale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Pernell; three sons, Milton Scott, Gregory and Frankie Pernell; two brothers, Benny Ray and Owen Hale.

Surviving: daughters, Sonya Pernell Campbell (Chris) and April Pernell; brothers, Johnny (Debbie), Kenneth ( Dorothy) and Danny Hale; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
