RALEIGH--John A. Christnacht, 93, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

He was the son of the late Armand M. Christnacht and Florence McCoy Christnacht. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Lois Marion Abbink.

He was a WW II vet who served in the China, Burma, India theatre of operations. He was a member of Our Lady of The Rosary Parish in Louisburg where he was active in the choir.

Surviving: daughters, Laura Christnacht Cairns  (Steve)  of Louisburg and Joanne Richardson (Jim) of Evergreen, Colo.; sons, Peter A. Christnacht (Cindy) of Lakewood, Colo., Garrett Christnacht (Katheryn) of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; Stephen Christnacht of Yonkers N.Y.; Greg Christnacht of Kingston, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the building fund at Our Lady of the Rosary, 2227 NC 39, Louisburg, NC 27549.
