LOUISBURG - Roland Jerry Strickland, 68, of the Lake Royale Community, died Monday morning, Oct. 24, 2016. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Maple Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

Jerry was a son of the late H. Candler and Frances B. Strickland. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Strickland.

Surviving: wife of 34 years, Judy Strickland; sons, Scott (Sheila) Strickland, Ray (Crystal) Kennedy, all of Louisburg; daughters, Paula (John) Horton of Selma, Lynette (Chris) Harris of Cary; sister, Sharon Isley of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 1938 NC 56 Hwy. E., Louisburg, NC 27549.
