LOUISBURG - Sylvia Whisenant Moore, 77, formerly of Louisiana, died Thursday evening, Dec. 29, 2016. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. at The Rock Church in Zachary, La., with burial following in Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary.

She was born in Shreveport, La., daughter of the late Julius Coates and Modell Miller Whisenant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Walker Moore, and her son, William Keith Moore.

Surviving: daughters, Kathy (Bill) Harrison of Louisburg and Karen (Stanley) Redmond of Slaughter, La.; and two grandsons.
