GLENDA H. BAKER


MOREHEAD CITY- Glenda Henley Baker, 68, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 24, at First Baptist Church in Morehead City, with Dr. Nate Leonard officiating.

She was born Dec 6, 1948 to Glenn Buren Henley and Faye Eastland. She grew up in Louisburg and received degrees from Louisburg College and East Carolina University. She taught early childhood education in Franklin, Johnston, Halifax, and Wake counties. She substituted in Carteret County where she resided.

Surviving: husband, Mack Baker; son, Brent Baker (Maggie) of Morehead City; stepdaughter, Lynn Parrish (Gary) of Lucama; brother, Kent Henley of Cary; and three grandchildren.

Family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you instead donate to one of the following community organizations; First Baptist Church Renovation Capital Campaign Fund, 810 Bridges Street, Morehead City, NC 28557 or Salvation Army Building Fund, 1700 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
