VIRGINIA HALL SHERWOOD
March 8, 1960 - July 27, 2017

WAKE FOREST--Virginia Hall Sherwood, 57, of Wake Forest, passed away on July 27, 2017 after a courageous battle with peritoneal cancer.

She worked side by side with her husband, Steve, as co-owners of Mullis Millworks.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ruth Hall; sister, Martha Hall Gupton; and nephew, Michael Gupton Jr.

Virginia is survived by her father, Thomas Hall; sister, Mary Elizabeth Hall; brother, David Hall; brother-in-law, Michael Gupton; husband, Steve Sherwood; daughters, Sara Jackson and Rachael Sherwood, along with 6 nieces, 1 nephew and 8 great-nieces and nephews.

Virginia lived her life courageously and compassionately, ensuring that her daughters knew the value of caring for others and living selflessly. Finding peace in nature and all life, she cared deeply for her garden and spending time at the beach surrounded by family and friends. She will continue to be greatly loved and missed by her family and friends as she moves from this life to the next. A woman of strong faith and devotion, her service will be held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church on August 5th at 1 p.m. She asked that we celebrate her life rather than mourn our loss. We will be meeting in the fellowship hall following the service to share memories.

As a final act of charity, Virginia requested that her body be donated to help others with peritoneal cancer. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to REX Hematology Oncology Associates at Wakefield where she was given care and respect during her treatment.
