LOUISBURG - Richard Epps Capell, Jr., 79, of Louisburg, passed away Saturday morning.

Richard was the son of the late Richard and Lizzie Andrews Capell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Capell Dixon. He was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jason Havens officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Capell; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Janell Capell; daughter, Terri Capell Fryman, all of Louisburg; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and John Fletcher of Locust Grove, VA; brother-in-law, Phil Dixon of Knightdale; grandchildren, Scott Capell, Blake Capell, Cameron Capell, Ricky Rudd and Mark Rudd; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Carter and Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 1938 NC 56 Hwy East, Louisburg, NC 27549.
