DURHAM--Mrs. Hortense I. Kearney Clayton, 95, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017.

Surviving relatives include her daughters, Hazel Clayton Townsend, Shirley M. Clayton; brothers, Hal G. Kearney; sisters, Milora Smalls, Viola Jones, Pidie O. Debnam; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday, Oct. 12, at First Baptist Church, 300 S Main St, Franklinton, NC 27525, beginning at 2 p.m. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
