LOUISBURG -- Linda Jewel McGhee, 69, of Louisburg departed this earthly life on Monday, October 16, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 1, 1948 to the late Edward and Ludie Patterson Hale. A member of Hickory Rocky Baptist Church, Jewel was full of life and would help anyone if she was able. She enjoyed doing fun things like going to the fair and Christmas time, just like a child. She loved her son, Scott, and granddaughter, Sophie. Donald was her rock; he loved and cared for her until the end.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Hickory Rock Baptist Church, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Stuart Lamkin officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald McGhee; son, Scott Abbott; granddaughter, Sophie Abbott; and her sister, Vicky Lester (Chris).
