RALEIGH - Viola Kate Malagisi, 64, died Saturday, June 2, 2007. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh.

She was born in New York to Roy and Myrtice McGuire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar McGuire.

Surviving: her daughter, Rachael M. Atkinson (Thomas) of Clayton; son, Scott C. Malagisi (Stacy) of Syracuse, N.Y.; brother, James Monroe McGuire of Pass Christian, Miss.; sisters, Marie McGuire of Pittsboro, Kathy McGuire of Youngsville, Karen Cox (Jimmy) of Youngsville, and Grace Pearce (Zeb) of Pittsboro; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service.
