WILLIE H. WILLIAMS


FRANKLINTON --Willie H. Williams died on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Rose Manor in Durham. He had a birthday January 10th when he became 97 years old. He was a veteran of World War II. He was drafted at the age of twenty-one and served in Europe. He served in four major battles earning 4 bronze stars, including Normandy D+1.

A Funeral service was held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018, at Franklinton Baptist Church, 102 W. Mason St., Franklinton, NC 27525. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

He was predeceased by his first wife of 36 years, Ida Mae; his parents, one brother, and 2 sisters.

He is survived by one sister; one brother; his son, Cliff Williams (Debbie); three stepchildren, Donnie Beckham (Kelli), Hope Morath (Steve), Gail Honeycutt (Tommy); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many distant relatives. He is also survived by his second wife, Hazel Williams of 33 years. Willie was an honorable man, respected by all who knew him. He will be missed.

Visitation was held from 12-1:00 pm in the church before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklinton Baptist Church, The Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC or to a charity of your choice.
