LOUISBURG--Pollyanna Parrish Merritt, 96, died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at her home. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. at Louisburg Baptist Church, 302 N. Main Street, Louisburg, where funeral services were held Monday, July 2, at Louisburg Baptist Church, with Dr. Reggie Rushing and Dr. Patrick Fuller officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born to the late Ferrell and Annie Parrish in the Moulton community of Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her three older siblings, Fuller Parrish, Marcelle Harper and Anne Parrish. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Merritt.

After graduating from high school, she attended Richmond School of Cosmetology in Richmond, VA. She was the sole proprietor of Polly's Beauty Shop for over 30 years.

Surviving: daughters, Ann Merritt (Jackson Dean) of Orlando, Fla., and Lou Merritt of Raleigh; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
