RET. COL. BERNARD S. PERGERSON, JR.


ANNAPOLIS, MD.--Retired Colonel Benard Sharb Pergerson, Jr., 85, of Annapolis, Maryland, formerly of Franklinton, died March 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benard Pergerson, Sr. and Louise Gupton Pergerson; brother, Franklin Baer (FB) Pergerson; and sister, Barbara Pergerson Hudson. He honorably retired from the US Army, having served as an Infantry Officer and Aviator. He completed tours in Vietnam and received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Air Medal.

He enjoyed retirement by spending summer months in Maryland and the winter months in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Between travels he would spend time with family and friends in Franklin County, staying at the home of his brother-in-law, Ben Hudson.

Ret. Col. Pergerson is survived by his sister, Dorothy Pergerson Piper Wester, and his children, Vicky Williams (Dan), Connie Forbes (Stan), and Mark Pergerson.

Full military honors will be held at Arlington National Ceremony on August 8, 2018 at 11 a.m.
