LOUISBURG­--Robert Orell "Bobby" Gupton Sr., 80, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 10, at Victory Baptist Church, 475 J.P. Taylor Road, Henderson, with Pastor Ricky Easter officiating. Burial followed in the Corinth Baptist Church cemetery, Louisburg.

He was born to the late Bud and Margaret Weaver Gupton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Gupton.

Surviving: his wife, Sarah Patterson Gupton; sons, Robbie Gupton (Liz Sullivan) and Tim Finch (Tracey); daughters, Deborah Gupton, Sherri Mundy (Eugene), Crystal Gupton, Cindy Shockley (Scott Williams), Teresa Daniel (Tony), and Amy Napier (Jason); sisters, Merdice Hannon and Elizabeth Ellis; brothers, Herman "Mickey" Gupton (Rebecca), Charles Gupton (Dorothy), and Kenneth "Kenny" Gupton (Melanie); 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Navy, worked at the Henderson Cotton Mill, and ran an upholstery shop for thirty plus years.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church.
