CSM (RET.) WILLARD E. "BILL" BOOTH, JR.


YOUNGSVILLE--CSM (Ret.) Willard Easley "Bill" Booth, Jr., 92, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Gary McNair will officiate.

He was born in Surry County, Va., to the late Willard E. (Peter) and Mavis Williams Booth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alma Williams Johnson Booth.

He served in the US Army and retired with 25 years of service. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and Korea during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Silver Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star with the "V" for Valor and the Oak Leaf Cluster and other commendations.

Surviving: a son, Andy Johnson; two grandchildren; their mother, Ann Johnson; sisters, Rachel (Hank) Rotter of Texas, Nancy Provenzano and Betty (Amel) Lopez of Florida; a brother, Bobby Booth of Florida; many nieces and nephews.
