YOUNGSVILLE--Robert Earl "Bob" Gay, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 at Hillside Nursing & Rehabilitation in Wake Forest. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery.

He was born in Wake Forest, the son of the late Frank and Irma Bailey Gay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carter Gay; a son, Michael Gay; brothers, John "J.W. (Lee), Hayward (Polly); sister, Mary (James).

Surviving: daughter, Virginia Alford (Herbby) of Youngsville; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family at the home of Virginia and Herbby Alford after the service.
