FRANKLINTON--Funeral services for Gennie "Pig" Chavis Jr., 63, who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, will be held Sunday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Pope's Chapel United Church of Christ in Franklinton, with Pastor Leroy Dukes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: son, Gennie Chavis III of Raleigh; sisters, Bertha Branch and Rebecca Williamson, both of Franklinton; brother, Linwood Chavis (Rebecca) of Kittrell; and two grandchildren.

Open visitation will be Saturday from 3 until 7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
