SPRING HOPE --Hulda Strickland Wilson, 99, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at her home. A graveside service will be Sunday, April 7, at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Dale Cemetery, Spring Hope. Dr. Benjamin Quinn will conduct the service. Visitation with the family will be 1 to 2 p.m. at Spring Hope Funeral Home Sunday prior to the service at the cemetery.

She earned a teaching degree from East Carolina Teachers College (now East Carolina University). She taught high school at Gold Sand, Spring Hope, Middlesex and Southern Nash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Cecil Wilson; parents, Arthur and Clara Benton Strickland; brothers, Theron and Carl Strickland; sisters, Mattie Lee Stallings, Estelle Pearce, Margaret Strickland and Helen Anderson; her daughter, Jane Moss; and two grandchildren.

Surviving: sons, H. Cecil Wilson Jr. (Beverly) and Edgar Wilson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
