WENDELL--John Willie "JW" Scott, 78, died Saturday, May 25, 2019 at his home in Wendell. Services were Friday, May 31, at Old Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, Louisburg, with Pastor Michael Alston officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

He was born to the late Charlie Edward and Beatrice Kearney Scott in Franklin County. He received his education in the Franklin County public school system.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Edward Scott; sisters, Wilma Lee and Rogerlean Nelson; and one brother, James Edward Scott.

Surviving: wife: Barbara Scott; daughter, Cassandra Tart; two grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Lassiter (Mickey) and Marie Rogers; brother, Thomas Scott (Bernice); nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.
