BUNN - John Harvey Winstead, 93, of Bunn, passed away Saturday morning.

John was a son of the late Lillian Jones and David Closs Winstead. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Parker Benson, and brothers, Closs Winstead and Jerry Winstead.

John served in the U.S. Army for six years and loved to tell stories concerning his years of service in Germany with his Army buddies.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. A private family burial will in the Bunn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 -2 p.m. prior to the funeral.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie M. Winstead; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Diane Winstead; John M. Winstead and Dennis A. Winstead; special grandchildren, Miranda and Nolan Winstead; brother, Rusty Winstead; several special nieces and nephews.
