LOUISBURG--Funeral services for Johnny "Big Six" Long, 73, who died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Castalia, with Bishop Carl Wardrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Church cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Dorothy Long of the home; daughter, Sheila Best of Louisburg; sisters, Marie "Sister" Epps of Louisburg, Ernestine "Tine" Massenburg of Mebane; brothers, Wilbert and Glen Long, both of Louisburg, Pernell Long (Shirley) of Paterson, NJ; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
