DURHAM - Herbert Johnson Young, Jr., 52, of Durham, passed away Wednesday at his home.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert J. and Joyce R. Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marie and Hartford Ransdell; paternal grandparents, Josephine and Albright Young; uncles, Sammy Ransdell and Bobby O. Young.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Ransdell Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Herb is survived by his aunts, Carolyn Ransdell (David); Gail Hockaday (Clyde); Debbie Duke (Mike); Anne Young; and many cousins.
