FRANKLNTON--Howard Lee Johnson, 83, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2019. Service was held Thursday, Dec. 12, at First Baptist Church of Franklinton, with the Rev. Andre Johnson officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Franklinton.

He was born in Louisburg, the son of the late Walter and Katie Gill Johnson. He was educated in the Franklin County Public School System. He relocated to Boston, MA and resided there until 2015.

He was preceded in death by 12 of his siblings.

Surviving: wife, Edith Johnson of the home; daughters, Barbara Jones (Willie) of Louisburg and Felicia Cooke of Raleigh; son, Sylvester Johnson (Readie) of Franklinton; sisters, Katie Kearney (Felix) of Franklinton, Precolia Burwell, Clara and Gladys Johnson, all of Boston, MA; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
