RALEIGH--Harold Thomas Edwards, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020. The family received friends on Monday, Feb. 24, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at St. John's Baptist Church, 1615-A Oberlin Rd., Raleigh, where a funera was held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Hovey and Dr. Richard Wynne officiating. Burial followed in the Collins Grove Cemetery.

He was born to the late William Thomas and Mozelle Hagwood Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Taylor, Betty Rochelle; and a brother, James Wallace Edwards.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an employee of Wilson Parts and Equipment for over forty years.

Surviving: wife, Sylvia Green Edwards; son, Rev. Michael (Meredith) Edwards; daughter, Melissa Edwards; four grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Wayne Edwards (Esperanza) and Lee Warren Edwards; sister, Catherine Simms; and many nieces and nephews.
