STEM--Edward Manuel Varnell Jr., 71, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Duke Medical Center. Due to the pandemic and social distancing, services will be private.
He was born to the late Edward Manuel and Rebecca Walker Varnell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving: wife, Linda Cave Varnell; daughters, Michelle V. Lugo (David), Shawne M. Lawless (Ellis); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Wesley Varnell, Van Varnell (Lisa); and many nieces and nephews.
